Family Time

I was going to wash Mom's hair in the sink and Emi and Kingston decided to get the brush and help then proceeding to brush out Papa's hair as well! Those silly kids seem to put a smile on everyone's face all the time.

We've Got Movement.......

I made it over to see Mom earlier this week and she looked SO good. Her swelling in her hand had gone down tremendously and she is almost able to straighten her elbow. She is still doing her exercises several times a day and has incorporated a little more movement in her arm. Her shoulder is still not to move at all but getting the other muscles in her arm to get stronger is so important.

Mom decided to take herself off of her pain medicine on Tuesday and has been doing pretty good. The nights are most difficult waking up in the middle of them and not being able to go back to sleep. It is very hard for her to get comfortable with her arm in the sling.

I can tell that she is getting so much stronger and on her way to recovery! Her spirits seem to be great and her energy is high.

Happy Halloween & Emi's 4th Birthday

Mom's 2nd Week

Mom is slowly making baby steps!
She is moving around and has a couple more exercises she has brought into her daily routine. In a secure environment, she can place her arm on her leg and raise it up and too the side. She does this a couple of times a day. Her hand has gone down but her elbow is still not straightening. It seems as though she might have actually fallen on her elbow causing the swelling and limited movement. She is pushing through and I know she is getting stronger. I got to her house and she told me that she emptied the dishwasher! It took her about 15 minutes but she did it herself. I never thought that anyone could get excited about emptying a dishwasher! I was really happy for her. I know that she is determined to get stronger.

Mom got her first visitor this week too. On Friday, November 29th my mother in law, Allyson came over to surprise Mom. She brought her some great soup and sat with Mom for a while. This really made her feel special to know that so many people are continually thinking about her.

My Quote for Mom is..........
LOVE HEALS YOU!

On Halloween we even got her hair done and she put a sweater on all the way over her hand! It was a great day for Mom. It was beautiful and she was able to get out and Trick-or-Treat with the family and seeing all of the fun neighborhood kids costume. I know she was happy to get out of the house.

Look at all of the great cards, flowers, and kind things from her friends & family. She feels extremely blessed.
