2012 Resolutions

HELLO 2012!
It just sounds like it is going to be a good year.

* Be a good wife, mother, daughter
* Grow our family
* Buy a house
* Workout, spin, yoga at least 3 times a week
* Blog
* Floss

I have a lot to be thankful for in 2011. It was a tough year but it made me stronger and realize that the little things are always important. I got to know myself in a whole different way. I realized that it is ok to break down and be weak. It is ok to not want to get out of bed. It is these things that built be back up and make me even stronger and more understanding.

One Year Later!

I woke up thinking that I can't believe that is has been a year since Mom fell & broke her shoulder. She has made great strides and has made me and her doctor very proud. She never has given up and has been positive ever since the accident happened. Her time off was good for her to heal up and think about what the next steps of her life would bring. She got an exciting phone call from Pottery Barn and has been the customer service manager for a couple months. She gets up every morning determined to take on the day and not let her arm get in the way. There is not a day that goes by that someone at Nordstrom doesn't ask me how Mom is and tell her I said hi. She is an amazing inspiration and I am so proud of her! There are even moments that we forget that Mom broke her shoulder. She never complains and is always up for things. I hope that she can start yoga soon because I know that she has really missed that.

Here are some cute images of Mom this year. What a looker....how lucky am I to have these amazing genes.

2011!

It occurred to me that I haven't written anything on my blog in almost a year! Time sure does fly. Not that that is an excuse but we have had some pretty crazy things happen to us this year. So I am posting this as a snapshot of 2011:

* Darren & I get new jobs (June)
* I have two surgeries (April & June)
* Sasha & Luke get married (May)
* Jared graduates (June)
* Jared & Ursula move to Dallas (September)

Family Time

I was going to wash Mom's hair in the sink and Emi and Kingston decided to get the brush and help then proceeding to brush out Papa's hair as well! Those silly kids seem to put a smile on everyone's face all the time.

We've Got Movement.......

I made it over to see Mom earlier this week and she looked SO good. Her swelling in her hand had gone down tremendously and she is almost able to straighten her elbow. She is still doing her exercises several times a day and has incorporated a little more movement in her arm. Her shoulder is still not to move at all but getting the other muscles in her arm to get stronger is so important.

Mom decided to take herself off of her pain medicine on Tuesday and has been doing pretty good. The nights are most difficult waking up in the middle of them and not being able to go back to sleep. It is very hard for her to get comfortable with her arm in the sling.

I can tell that she is getting so much stronger and on her way to recovery! Her spirits seem to be great and her energy is high.
